Am Nota panduan ini memberikan keterangan mengenai keperluan suis bomba dan rekabentuknya menurut Undang-Undang Kecil Bangunan Seragam 1984.

Rujukan 2.1 Undang-Undang Kecil Bangunan Seragam 1984 Uniform Building By-Laws 1984: Part VIII, section 240: (1) Every floor or zone of any floor with a net area exceeding 929 square metres (approximately 10,000 square feet) shall be provided with an electrical isolation switch located within a staircase enclosure ( Reference: Uniform Building By-Laws 1984, section 133 : Interpretation : Fire Fighting Staircase - means a staircase designated as a recognised means of access into the building for firemen in the event of a fire) to permit the disconnection of electrical power supply to the relevant floor or zone served. The switch shall be of a type similar to the firemans switch specified in the IEE Regulations then in force (BS 7671:1992 : Requirements For Electrical Installation: IEE Wiring Regulations 16th. Edition).

Selection and Erection of Equipment:

2.2.1

Regulation 476-03-05:

A firemans emergency switch shall be provided in the low voltage circuit supplying: (i) Exterior electrical installations operating at a voltage exceeding low voltage (e.g. electric sign; Reference: Electricity Regulations 1994, Regulation 2: Interpretation: Electric Sign - means a neon sign or other consuming apparatus of like nature operating more than 400 volts), and Interior discharge lighting installation operating at a voltage exceeding low voltage (e.g. electric sign).

2.2.2

Regulation 476-03-07:

Every firemans emergency switch provided for compliance with Regulation 47603-05 shall comply with all relevant requirements of the following items (i) to (iv) and any requirements of the local fire authority: (i) for an exterior installation, the switch shall be outside the building and adjacent to the equipment, or alternatively a notice indicating the position of the switch shall be placed adjacent to the equipment and the notice shall be fixed near the switch so as to render it clearly distinguishable (Reference: Electricity Regulations 1994, Regulation 27(2)(d))

for an interior installation, the switch shall be in the main entrance to the building or in another position to be agreed with the local fire authority (Reference: Electricity Regulations 1994, Regulation 27(2)(e)) the switch shall be placed in a conspicuous position, reasonably accessible to firemen and, except where otherwise agreed with the local fire authority, at not more than 2.75m (approximately 9 feet) from the ground or the standing beneath the switch (Reference: Electricity Regulations 1994, Regulation 27(2)(c)). where more than one switch is installed on any one building, each switch shall be clearly marked to indicate the installation or part of the installation which it controls (switch (Reference: Electricity Regulations 1994, Regulation 27(2)(f)).

2.2.3

Regulation 537-04-03:

Where practicable a device for emergency switching shall be manually operated directly interrupting the main circuit. A device such as a circuit breaker or a contactor operated by remote control shall open on de-energisation of the coil, or another technique of suitable reliability shall be employed.

2.2.4

Regulation 537-04-04

The operating means (such as a handle or pushbutton) for a device for emergency switching shall be clearly identifiable and preferably coloured red. It shall be installed in a readily accessible position where the hazard might occur and, where appropriate, further devices shall be provided where additional emergency switching may be needed.

2.2.5

Regulation 537-04-05:

The operating means of the device for emergency switching shall be of the latching type or capable of being restrained in the OFF or STOP position. A device in which the operating means and the means automatically resets is permitted where both that operating means and the means of re-energising are under the control of one and the same person. The release of the emergency switching device shall not re-energise the equipment concerned.

2.2.6

Regulation 537-04-06:

A firemans emergency switch provided for compliance with Regulations 476-03-05 to 476-03-07 shall: (i) be coloured red and have fixed on or near it a permanent durable nameplate marked with the words FIREMANS SWITCH (Reference: Electricity Regulations 1994, Regulation 27(2)(b) - SUIS BOMBA) the plate being the minimum size 150 mm by 100 mm, in lettering easily legible from a distance appropriate to the site conditions but not less than 36 points, and have its ON and OFF positions clearly indicated by lettering legible to a person standing on the ground at the intended site, with the OFF position at the top (Reference: Electricity Regulations 1994, Regulation 27(2)(b)), and be provided with a device to prevent the switch being inadvertently returned to the ON position (Reference: Electricity Regulations 1994, Regulation 27(2)(g)), and be arranged to facilitate operation by a fireman.

Pematuhan Dalam Rekabentuk: 3.1 Keperluan: (i) Setiap lantai atau zon lantai dengan luas keseluruhan melebihi 929 meter persegi (lebih kurang 10,000 kaki persegi) (Undang-Undang Kecil Bangunan Seragam 1984: Part VIII section 240); Mana-mana papan tanda elektrik luar (Peraturan-Peraturan Elektrik 1994, peraturan 27(1)(a); BS 7671: 476-03-05(i)); Mana-mana papan tanda elektrik dalam (Peraturan-Peraturan Elektrik 1994, peraturan 27(1)(a); BS 7671: 476-03-05(iii));

3.2

Penempatan (i) Hendaklah ditempatkan pada Tangga Kecemasan Pemadam Kebakaran (Fire Fighting Staircase) (Undang-Undang Kecil Bangunan Seragam 1984, Part VIII section 240); Hendaklah ditempatkan supaya nyata (mudah dilihat), secara munasabah dapat dicapai oleh ahli bomba dan ketinggiannya tidak melebihi 2.7 meter (lebih kurang 9 kaki) dari tapak atau lantai di bawah suis tersebut (Peraturan-Peraturan Elektrik 1994, peraturan 27(2)(f); BS 7671: 476-03-07(iii)).

Tanda kedudukan ON dan OFF hendaklah ditulis dengan jelas supaya dapat dilihat dengan nyata oleh orang yang berdiri di tapak. Kedudukan OFF hendaklah berada di bahagian atas (PeraturanPeraturan Elektrik 1994, peraturan 27(2)(b); BS 7671: 537-04-06 (ii)); Dibekalkan dengan peranti yang dapat menghalang suis dari kembali kepada kedudukan ON dengan mudah atau tidak sengaja (PeraturanPeraturan Elektrik 1994, peraturan 27(2)(g); BS 7671: 537-04-06 (iii)).

Notis-Notis: (i) Mempunyai plat nama berwarna merah, ditulis dengan perkataan SUIS BOMBA menggunakan huruf besar berwarna putih, dipasang di atas atau berhampiran dengan suis tersebut. Plat nama hendaklah dari jenis tahan lama, berukuran minimum 150mm x 100mm dan hendaklah dapat dilihat dengan jelas oleh orang yang berdiri di tapak, tetapi hendaklah tidak kurang dari 36 mata (lebih kurang 15mm tinggi) (Peraturan-Peraturan Elektrik 1994, peraturan 27(2)(b); BS 7671: 537-04-06 (i)); Jika lebih dari satu suis dipasang dalam satu bangunan, setiap suis hendaklah diberi penandaan tentang pepasangan atau bahagian pepasangan yang dikawal oleh suis berkenaan (Peraturan-Peraturan Elektrik 1994, peraturan 27(2)(f); BS 7671: 476-03-07 (ii)).

Rekabentuk Litar Di mana munasabah, satu peranti untuk pensuisan kecemasan hendaklah dipasang, dan hendaklah berupaya memutuskan bekalan litar utama secara insani. Peranti seperti pemutus litar atau penyentuh yang beroperasi secara kawalan jauh, hendaklah berupaya membuka litar dengan tindakan de energisation kepada gegelung, atau teknik-teknik lain yang berkeupayaan
