Interactivity
Whenever viewers involve datasets in common (with or without
the same variables on display) users may select data in one

selection mode, multiple wells, filters and zones...) make
Techlog’s viewers an easy-to-use and powerful analysis tool.
Other plotting tools include array-histograms and array-array
crossplots for viewing and managing multi-sampled array data.
• 2D/3D Cross Plots linear and non-linear, freely calculated, fixed-
point or fully customizable regression tools are available on all 2D
crossplots; fully interactive rotation and zoom functions, together
with filtering and zone control make the 3D crossplot a highly

With Techlog’s innovative design, visualizing your data has never been so easy.
Techstat
Let the data speak for themselves
A fundamental requirement for detailed statistical interpretation of log and
core data is to be able to perform comprehensive Exploratory Data Analy-
sis. Techstat provides a wide range of visual and calculation tools to un-
derstand users' data.
Regressions
• Linear (RMA, Major Axis, x/y, y/x), non-linear, polynomial and mul-
tiple lines algorithms are available.
• Regression and other fit lines and functions may be created and
conditioned on filters, zonation, well-by-well or multi-well.
• Fit lines may be calculated for user-defined subsets of data using
Regression Plots using
the data selection tools and interactivity between viewers

Factorial Analysis
• Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is a useful tool to summarize data, since it
separates the dominating features in the data set.
• Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) is used to determine the best projection space
to discriminate between two or more naturally occurring groups.
It clarifies subsequent Cluster Analyses on users’ data.
• Multiple Correspondence Analysis (see Ancor tool) compares qualitative variables
that may either be of similar type (observed vs predicted curves) or be of dissimi-
lar type (geology vs petrophysics).

tation methods whilst Total brought to the project more
than 15 years of detailed, rigorous knowledge and ex-
perience in handling core data.
Benefits
• Perform specific processing tasks within one user envi-
ronment, e.g. calculation of capillary functions
(Thomeer, Buckley-Leverett, Lambda, Wright- Wooddy-
Johnson and Hyperbolic Tangent methods), grain size,
pore throat distributions, etc.
• Partition the core data into “hydraulic units” (or “petro-
physcial groups”) that reflect zones in which storage and transmissivity of fluids are likely to be similar. Techsia’s extensive
experience in techniques of classification, correspondence analysis and exploratory statistical tools such as Principal Com-
ponents Analysis is applied for this task.
• Combine the maximum amount of data available to generate “petrophysical logs”, which are fully representative of the
variation in core data upscaled by rigorous methods to be comparable to the scale of the wireline or MWD log data. The
upscaling is performed by reference to either continuous core description data (possibly created by picking on core images)
or to the most finely resolved quantitative measurements on the core (e.g. mini-K or core-gamma) by 1D Kriging interpola-
tion (several external drifts are possible).

organizing map (Ipsom) is designed for
use in :
• geological interpretation of well
log data and facies prediction

physical parameters (!, k, hy-
draulic units...)

phase, results are quantified and re-
fined through an iterative process. High
