Purpose of meeting
Introduce the concept of Water Safety
Plans
Establish a Water Safety Team
Workshop a few known risks and risk
areas
Discuss possible roles and responsibilities
for the improvement plan

WATER SAFETY PLAN = 35% of BDROP SCORE

What is a Water Safety Plan (WSP)?
Document of the Water Safety Planning
Process to consistently ensure the safety and
acceptability of the drinking water system by:
Step : Identifying hazards and prioritizing
risks in drinking water system from
catchment-to consumer;
Step : Assessing effectiveness of existing
control measures for these risks, and
Step : Implementing improvement plans for
high priority uncontrolled risks.

Conclusion
Although most responsibilities and budget
are from Technical Department, all
stakeholder players have a role to play in
implementation of WSP
Need the signatures for the approval of
the plan.
Progress on the implementation of the
improvement plan must be shown at the
Blue Drop Assessments
