OBJECTIVES:
At the end of the lesson, the students should be
able to:
a) define the meteoroid, meteor and meteorite,
b) represent the relationship between a
meteoroid, meteor, and meteorite using a
diagram.
c) explain how meteoroid, meteor, and meteorite
are related.
d) appreciate the importance of meteorite in
studying the occurrence of different elements
and compounds on Earth

• Divide the class into three groups.
• Let the leader of the group to have a draw
lots and whatever color they picked
represents their own team.
• First group- blue (role playing)
• Second group -red (using diagram)
• Third Group- green (drawing)

Meteoroid
• A broken up rock and dust
from either a comet, asteroid,
the Moon, or from Mars.
• A meteoroid can be as small
as a grain of sand or as big as
a boulder.
Meteor
• A light phenomenon or a
streak of light that occurs
when a meteoroid burns up as
it enters Earth’s atmosphere.
• A meteor moves swiftly and
seems to fall on the ground.
Meteorite

•It is a meteoroid that


reaches the ground
and survives impact.
