MANIPULATIVE MEDIA
WHAT IS MANIPULATIVE MEDIA?
• Manipulative media are objects, activities,
programs and applications that teachers and
students use to engage in interactive, hands-on
learning. Traditional manipulative media are
objects and materials that have been present since
before the advent of computers and computer-
aided technology.
WHAT ARE MANIPULATIVE MATERIALS
?
• Manipulative materials are any concrete objects that allow
students to explore an idea in an active, hands-on
approach. Manipulatives materials can be almost
anything- blocks, shapes, spinners or even paper that is cut
or folded. It’s main function is to let students connect ideas
and symbols to physical objects, which will promote a
better understanding. It can also be a tool to help students
solve problem by using physical models to represent their
thinking.
INTERACTIVE MEDIA
WHAT IS INTERACTIVE MEDIA?
• Interactive media normally refers to products
and services on digital computer-based
systems which respond to the user’s actions by
presenting content such as text, moving image,
animation, video, audio, and video games.

feel as if they are exploring a world that is a

• Games that mix virtual and

INTERACTIVE VIDEO
• Video and televisions with interactive
features such as streaming videos that
audiences help to create.
PUBLICATIONS

• Publications such as websites that allow


users to navigate, communicate and
participate.
SOCIAL MEDIA

• digital communities that allow media


to be navigated shared and created.

• Interactive art that involves the


observer
ADVERTISING
• digital, outdoor and in-store advertising that
features interactive elements such as digital
poster that reacts to people who are in it’s
proximity
THEME PARKS

• attractions that combine media such as a


movie with physical elements such as a roller
coaster
CINEMA

• allows audiences to play a role in the


film, In theory, movies could be game
like.
