 In first of all, they published a newspaper named Hind
samachar (1948) . After that they published Punjab
kesari(1965).

 Format :- Broadsheet.
 Language :- Hindi.
 However, during the days of terrorism in punjab, lala
jagat narain ji & eldest his son ramesh chander both
were assassinated in a terrorist attack in 1981 & 1984
respectively as they wrote against terrorism.
 During those days of terrorism, Punjab
Kesari continued to work against terrorism. The
management also established Shaheed Parivar
Fund (martyrs' welfare fund) to provide help to the
terrorism-affected families.

 During 1974 emergency in India , when undeclared
censorship was imposed on the press and the power
supply was discontinued, the newspaper was printed
by the alternative arrangements with tractors on
diesel.
 1984–92 : During the terrorism in Punjab, due to the
continuous threats and attack on media staff, the
production, printing and distribution, every process
was under strict police protection.
 Punjab Kesari group of newspapers by publishing
editorials of Sh. Ashwini Kumar on the front page has
given a lead and new direction to the newspaper
industry and probably are the first to publish editorial
on the front page.

Freedom struggle.he sentenced two and half year
imprisonment.
 In 1924 he became the editor of Bhai Parmanand's
weekly Hindi language paper Akashvani.
 He was the member of punjab legislative assembly,
member of parliament.
