    The University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (UVAS),


    is one of the ancient Veterinary Institutions in Asia.
    Established :Since1882 It was known as Ghora Hospital.
    started a Veterinary School in 1882 and was raised
    to the status of Punjab Veterinary College by the
    end of nineteenth century. In 1942, the College was
    affiliated with Punjab University, Lahore.
    In 2002 the college was upgraded named
    University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS)

    • Complaint: Circling movement, Weakness,
    off feed.
    • Clinical signs: Temp. 1060F, diarrhea, swollen
    lymph node, twisted neck, circling movement.
    • Etiology: The bacterium Listeria
    monocytogenes
    • Diagnosis: On the basis of history & clinical
    findings
    • Treatment: Inj: N Saline 500ml I/V
    • Inj: Dicloran 3ml
    • Inj: Synocob 5ml 100mg I/V
    • Inj: neurobion 3ml (1)

    • Surgical Tool: Burdizo Castrator

    Procedure:
    • Inject 0.2 xylaz
    • The animal was recumbent in lateral recumbency on the ground and
    restrained all legs by rope.
    • The hind leg of the animal moved ahead to expose its testes.
    • Then located the spermatic cord with the help of the fingers.
    • A folded cloth also placed on the spermatic cord.
    • Put the Burdizo castrator just below the thumb and applied pressure
    on the handle of the Burdizo castrator
    • Checked the broken spermatic cord with hand.
    • Repeated the procedure for other testes spermatic cord.

    Post-Operative Care:
    • Don’t give any grain or cereal to the Buck for feeding.
    • Give green fodder to Buck

    • Complaint: Unable Parturition
    • Diagnosis: Fetus was dead
    • Treatment: Dystocia was solved
    by manually

    Inj: N/S 500ml I/V
    Inj: Penbiotic 3ml I/M

    Animal was restrained on lateral recumbency,
    lubricated the hand with liquid paraffin & Inserted in
    vagina.
    The fetus was easily removed manually.

    • Brief Description: Characterized by vomiting,
    • diarrhea, abdominal pain and weight loss
    • Animal: Cat

    • Clinical Findings: Dehydration followed by
    Vomiting, Diarrhea & abdominal pain.
    • Diagnosis: Clinical findings and history
    • Treatment: Dextrose 5% 200ml S/C
    Oxidil (Ceftriaxone 500mg) 3ml I/M

    conclusion

    • I got a lot of experience during internship in


    University of Veterinary animal sciences Lahore.
    • Worked in different rotations in Surgery, pet,
    clinical medicine and Theriogenology and learn a
    lot.
    • I got various opportunities to learn different
    clinical cases.
    • Staff provided me great support and
    encouragement. As a whole I believe to have got a
    better understanding of my internship work with a
    lot of practices to learn new things.
