Note:
1. You can expresses to a particular person, with this structure: “a person name, the greeting
phrase”.

2. In Chinese, a person’s occupation or job position is frequently used as a title to address


people (e.g. lǎoshī--teacher). It’s used like the expression of Mr., Miss, and Madam.

3. For respect, “Surname + job position” is the most proper form of address a person (e.g. Lín
lǎoshī). We seldom address a person directly by his/her personal name.

Note:
1. “nín hǎo” is the polite form of greeting, it used to indicate respect to one’s elders and betters.
It’s not used in the plural.

2.You can expresses to more than one person, with adding “men” (plural particle) after single
personal pronoun. (e.g. nǐ hǎo → nǐmen hǎo)
