Hiligaynon literature” . The writer stretched the
possibility of the story by characterizing Jalandoni,
lending her life and motivation through striking
details. These afford us a glimpse of Jalandoni’s
inner life as a woman born in the point of change,
whose creativity came up against the restrictions of
her conservative environment.
Growing up She lost her father at the age of two.
When she was ten years old, she wrote her first corrido, Padre Juan Kag Beata Maria
At 13, she had four other corridos which was published in La Editorial in IloIlo City.
As a lady She had her first novel , Mga Tunoc sang Isa ca Bulac, when she was 16.
She had 37 novels, 5 autobiographies, 8 narrative poems, 6 corridos, 10 plays, 213 lyric
poems, 132short stories, 9 essays and 10 melodramas
At 75 She had her most matured novel, Juanita Cruz who is also a binukot.
She wrote about undying love in line with Jose Rizal’s 70th death anniversary
At 80
She died at the age of 87
