    I. INTRODUCTION

    Municipality
    of Consolacion is
    located at the
    Northern part of
    Cebu.This
    municipality is
    adjacent to Cebu
    and Mandaue City.
    It is thirteen
    kilometers away
    from Cebu city
    and 5 kilometers
    from Mandaue City
    with a total area of
    45,949,400 square
    meters more or
    less.
    Consolacion (often shortened to 'Lacion
    in everyday discussion) is classified as
    (1st) first class municipality because
    of its increasing income, population and
    economic improvements.

    Barangays
    Consolacion is divided into 21 barangays
    namely:

    POPULATION:

    This municipality has a total population of 87,544


    based on 2007 census. Barangay Poblacion is divided
    into two parts namely Brgy Oriental and Occidental.
    These two barangays are the most populated.

    INDUSTRY:

     Consolacion has eight (8) banks, ten (10) Globe and


    Smart towers, one (1) Veco sub-station, one (1) mall,
    one (1) terminal, one (1) public market, six (6) shipyard
    and thirteen (13) subdivisions.
     Sources of income are derived from its various potential
    industries like business, livestock, furniture industries,
    talaba farms, and fishing.

    INTERNAL SECURITY:

    This station is maximizing its information campaign through


    Barangay Information Network from the Brgy. Officials, CTES,
    Brgy. Tanods, and selected members of Brgy. Intelligence
    Network (BIN) of all barangays. The channel of
    communication is basically done thru cell phone and radio
    communication installed in some Barangays for monitoring
    and information gathering purposes.

    For the period covered, Peace & Order condition in relation


    to internal security with in the area of immediate concern
    remains normal.

    Intensified intelligence monitoring and conduct of mobile/


    random checkpoints .
    ANTI-CRIMINALITY CAMPAIGN:

    Rigid operations like random checkpoints , patrolling and


    saturation drive against illegal drugs, illegal gambling and
    other forms of illegal activities with the active participation
    and cooperation of civilian volunteers like GUARDIANS,
    barangay tanods, BIN and CTES help prevent and minimizing
    the occurrence of crimes in this municipality.

    Intensive information campaign like pulong-pulong,


    lectures, seminars against all forms of illegal activities to all
    barangays.

    Strict implementation of local municipal ordinances against


    all form of illegal activities.

    VI. BRIEF ASSESSMENT

    Consolacion is one of the most accessible exit point from


    Cebu City and Mandaue City. Some Criminals prefer to hide this
    town because some of its Barangays are located in remote
    places. The police to population ratio is 1 to 3,612 people.

    Residents of Pier area from adjacent cities made this town


    as a relocation site wherein, most of them are unemployed and no
    other way of living except to commit crimes in order to survive.
    Despite the rigid effort of the policemen, some problems are
    encountered such as lack of police personnel, armaments (short
    FAS) and mobility (police vehicle) to be used during night and
    beat patrol in order to minimize the occurrence of crimes.

    However, despite of these constraints, the peace and order


    situation of this municipality is manageable.

    ON:
    1. Due to a notable increased in cases of
    physical injuries and domestic violence in which
    suspects usually under the influence of liquor, it is
    strongly recommended that there should be an
    Ordinance to be passed regulating the use of liquor
    specially in public places and municipal Ordinance
    for Drunkenness.

    2. This police station is in need of an LCD


    Projector to be used in our various seminars and
    trainings to be conducted together with our
    municipal DSWD, DILG & other LGUs/ NGOs
    counterpart.
