Error 1328 Quickbooks updating file generally occurs when you
are updating, installing, or uninstalling, repairing the Quickbooks
program. The files referenced by this error are generally similar to
c:\config.msi\PT**.TMP. There is no fixed reason to occur this
error. The config.msi is a temporary repository to store data that is
needed to roll back an installation if it fails. The data of this folder
is deleted after the installation of the application is done correctly.
The content of that file should be deleted because it creates
problems with Quickbooks ability that may raise the possibility of
site repair.
Causes of Quickbooks Error 1328:-
1- Firstly, right-click on the start menu and choose to explore option then double-click on
C drive, this will display all the hidden files and folders.
2- To view all the hidden files and folders click on the tools option and then choose folder
then look for the view tab and click on the hidden files and folders option. Once done then
click on apply and ok button. Now you have to check the protected operating file system.
3- Now, you have to choose a view option and deselect the hidden protected operating
system-based file. Now, again you have to choose the apply option and then click on the
“ok” option.
4- Now, do right-click on the “config.msi” file then rename the file. It will hide and protect
your operating system files including all necessary hidden files & folders.
