 Age and sex structure is the composition of a population as determined by the number or
proportion of males and females in each age category. The age-sex structure of a population is the
cumulative result of past trends in fertility, mortality, and migration. Information on age-sex
composition is essential for the description and analysis of many other types of demographic data.

 Based on the gathered data, majority of population in

Poblacion West, General Tinio Nueva Ecija belongs to the age
bracket of 15-20 years old with total number of 200
(10.73%). Followed by the 1 to 5 years old with a total
number of 194 (10.41%) and the top 3 with a total number of
179 (9.60%) belongs to 6 to 10 years and the least are the 86
years old and above with a total number of 4 (0.21%).

 It implies that parental guidance must be stressed out and increasing the awareness of
teenagers about the importance of reproductive health must be emphasized because
they are currently in the fertility stage. During this age the self-esteem of the children
are easily manipulated based on people in the community so that it is important for
them to have support from their family to accomplish this type of problem that they will
encounter in life.

Having a higher population for teenager, it

signifies that more needs support from their
parents financial and material help, and teenager
will spend time with their family’s sharing ideas.

 According to WHO (2020), Gender refers to the characteristics of women, men, girls and boys that
are socially constructed.
 Based on our gathered data, the majority population based on gender females with total number of
944 (50.70%) and male is 918(49.30%) as we all know for the past 20 years.

 It indicates that the community has a greater chance of having an increase population
because female has majority population .Male are expected to be more assertive,
competitive and the one who support and provide the need of the family while women is the
one who will take care only for their child and doing household activity. As of both shares an
equal status in society both can accomplish higher position in any establishments or agencies
also in government or private, gender equality is one on the sustainable development on

 According to Philippine Statistics Authority (2020) , Civil status or marital status of an
individual in relation to marriage, classified as follows: a) Single - A person who has never
been married; b) Married - A couple living together as husband and wife, legally or
consensually; c) Divorced - A person whose bond of matrimony has been dissolved legally
and who therefore can remarry;

d) Separated - A person separated legally or not

from his/her spouse because of marital discord or
misunderstanding; and e) Widowed - A person
whose bond of matrimony has been dissolved by
death of his/her spouse.

 Based on the gathered data out of 1862 total number of populations, 606 (32.55%) are married it
implies that community have the tendency to have a population increase. Next highest percentage
are child with 550 (29.54%) holds the hope of the community, however this is the stage where they
begin exploring themselves, followed by single with 434 (23.31%). Fourth highest are live in with
146 (7.84%). Followed by widow with 73, (3.92%). Separated with 31 (1.66%) and widower with 22
(1.18%).

 The data implies that people in the Barangay Poblacion

West, value marriage because its total number is much
higher than the live-in people in their community and
has the tendency to have a population increase.

 Based on the gathered data on the educational attainment, out of 1862 individuals, the
highest percentage with a total of 333 (17.88%) is the High school Graduate followed by
the College Graduate 309 (16.60%) and the Elementary Level has a total number of 248
(13.3%). The least percentage is the vocational level with a total number of 3 (0.14%).

 The data implies that the community is well

educated for majority where Highschool graduate
and college graduate, giving them a better
chance of having a good employment and
income to provide for their daily needs.

 According to Robert Putman (2010). Religion provides spiritual, social, psychological and
often material support for individuals and families. Since religion deals in “ultimate”
matters, it helps people make sense of their lives, as well as their role in their families and
in their communities, which influences the faith, lifestyle, health attitude, practices, and
one’s general outlook in life. It provides tantalizing evidence that people with same and
strong commitments to particular religious communities are also good neighbors and good
citizens.
 THE RELIGION OF THE RESIDENTS IN

 Based on the gathered data, majority of the respondents are Catholic which consists of
59.77% of the total number of population. The Methodist being the second in place which
has the percentage of 14.39%. And the Iglesia ni Cristo which place third in ranking with
10.79%.
 It only implies that most the people in the community
have a common religion. As health care providers, we
must still respect the community religion beliefs/
practices and make our plan of care with due respect
to these.

 Based on our gathered data all the population communicate with 100%.
 With this it is a good indication that there is no
language barrier in dealing with the people in the
community, information regarding the programs of
our government and issues in barangay will be easily
imparted.
