CHAPTER THREE
Johann’s sister, who was married to a tradesman, invited him to
occupy a room in her house in Strelsau. However, Johann found that
he would not be able to leave because of his duties, so he invited
Rasendyll to occupy his place to be nearer to the cornonation.
Rasendyll accepted his offer gladly and began to prepare for his
journey. His little maid told him that he could take the train and that
the nearest train station is only ten miles away. So he secretly
changed his plans to send his luggage to the house and walk through
the forest to the station.

2
CHAPTER THREE
Rassendyll walked for half an hour to reach the castle. Another
portion of was behind the castle, then there was a modern chateau
behind it, separated with a moat. This was the country residence of
the duke of Strelsau. Leading to the modern chateau
there was a broad and handsome avenue. It was an ideal residence:
when "Black Michael" desired company, he could dwell
in his chateau.

3
CHAPTER THREE
Finally, Rassnedyll entered the forest and began to enjoy its beauty that he
ignored his train and fell asleep. Then he was waked up by the voice of two men
which, he knew later, were the king’s servants Fritz and Sapt. Both were carrying
guns and wearing shooting costume. The two men were astonished with the
resemblance that Rassendyll carried with the King. They introduced themselves
to Rassendyll. Sapt was the older one who was short and had grey moustache
and small pale blue eyes while Fritz was the younger one who was of middle
height and dark in complexion. The king then came and was shocked to see
Rasendyll. Both of them were surprised to see themselves and how they
resembled each other. The only differences were that the king was shorter by half
an inch and that his face was fleshy and his mouth lacked firmness.
4
CHAPTER THREE
The king laughed loudly and thought about Duke Michael’s reaction if
he saw them with each other. Sapt thought it was unwise that
Rassendyll stays in Ruritania as that might cause several problems but
the king considered him his guest and invited him for a dinner. They
walked for half an hour till they reached the one-storey hunting lodge
which was rude. The servant prepared the dinner for them and they
ate and drank a lot. Sapt told them the next day’s plan which was that
he and Fritz would go to strelsau to come with the guards of honor to
fetch the king at eight.

for more than half an hour, breathing heavily, his heart was beating slow and his

CHAPTER FOUR

Fritz suggested to send a word to the world about the king’s issue to

Finally, Sapt had the idea to send Rudolf to the coronation instead of the king.
Rudolf objected and said that was impossible; however, Sapt said that it would,
indeed, be dangerous but that this was their only hope. Rudolf got convinced and
accepted. They planned that Rassendyll would go with Sapt to Hofbau’s train
station and head to the coronation while Fritz would be guarding the king till he
gets well. Then the king would get prepared and go to the palace while Rassendyll
would head towards the frontier to get back to his country. Josef shaved his
beard in order not to be detected.
