    • Copper was first used by man over 10,000 years ago. For nearly five
    millennia copper was the only metal known to man, and thus had all the
    metal applications.
    • The discovery that copper could also be obtained by heating Blue Stones or
    minerals (primarily copper sulfide ores) occurred between 4000 - 3000 BC
    • Copper is one of the few metals that can occur in nature in a directly
    usable metallic form (native metals).
    • Copper gets its name from the Latin word Cuprum, meaning from the
    island of Cyprus.
    Commercial Uses Of Copper

    jewellery.
