PRESENTATION ON

IWMP
WORKS
WATERSHED CAN BE DEFINED AS GEOHYDROLOGICAL UNIT WHERE
THE RAINWATER IS DRAINED TO A COMMON POINT.
IWMP OBJECTIVES
• Restoring the ecological balance by harnessing,
conserving and developing degraded natural
resources
• Increased agricultural production & productivity
through scientific approach & sustainable
agriculture practices
• Integrated livestock management for increasing
incomes
• Livelihood security for the poorest of the rural
poor
IWMP Districts
IWMP is implemented in 8 districts

1. Adilabad
2. Karimnagar
3. Khammam
4. Mahaboobnagar
5. Medak
6. Nalgonda
7. Ranga Reddy

Soil & Moisture Conservation Structures

Water Harvesting Structures

Afforestation works

Dry Land Horticulture

Fodder Development
Convergence of NRM works
with MG NREGS

 Complete saturation mode based Detailed Project

Reports(DPR).
 Segregation of NRM based Projects for
implementation by IWMP & MG-NREGS in IWMP
villages.
 10 out of 28 projects of MGNREGS i.e watershed related
works are taken by IWMP staff through WCC in IWMP
villages
 18 Projects out of 28 are taken up in MCC by MGNREGS
staff with MGNREGS fund in IWMP villages.
 Material intensive works i.e Drainage line treatment
works, Ground water Recharge works, Afforestation,
fodder development works etc are taken up in WCC with
IWMP fund
 Necessary Software is deployed in both MCC &WCC as
per the convergence strategy to avoid duplication
