SECURITY MEASURES
-to provide a safe, secure and humane environment for
offenders serving prison sentences and for our prison
based staff.
Preventing escapes - Escapes are often driven by the
need to see family members or resolve problems outside
prison. People may also have problems accepting the
sentence and the prison environment.
Use of force - Force is not used as a means of
punishment. Force can only be used once prison staff
have exhausted every effort to communicate with the
prisoner/s to diffuse a situation peacefully without the
need for force.

CONCLUSION
This type of correctional facility is required to ensure the effectiveness of
rehabilitating all offenders. Unlike in the Philippines, our prisons and
correctional facilities are extremely overcrowded, making it difficult for
inmates to change their conduct due to the environment. However, the
major goal of the Otago Correctional Facility is to transform the lives of
the convicts in order for them to become more responsible citizens in
society; they provide education and workshops to all offenders. The
facility's architecture is more than simply a simple prison; they hire an
engineer to build the entire institution in order to provide the finest
possible environment for criminals' reformation. It has recreational
activities that will assist the prisoner in his or her rehabilitation. While they
are compensated for any transgressions of the law, the facility encourages
the inmates to have a bright future when they re-enter society. The major
goal behind the design is to ensure the safety and security of all prisoners
while they serve their sentences inside the facility.

RECOMMENDATION
IMAGE SLIDE
This facility is very different and unexpected to the prison that we are
have in our place , because the facility contains a luxurious and most
comfortable that a prisoner can change their life. They are giving the
person who commits crime a second chance to change their life and
make it productive. Despite of the good quality presented of this facility
they are experiencing a range of shortcomings. Because of the
population growth and the increase of the prisoners transfer in this
facility the staff and faced challenges on how to accommodate all
prisoners, and how to separate each prisoners in their respective cells.
The recommendation we need to do in this facility is to be more active in
supervising the prisoners and have an organized plan if there are
unnecessary problem that would happened in every prisoners or in the
facility. They must continue all safety and security for all prisoners. every
day they must improve their service for all times.
