CHAPTER I: BACKGROUND OF
THE STUDY
• Social media are currently being used regularly by millions of peole. Social media
has become one of the most significant and has emerged as one of the basic
practice in student’s life. Also it helps students to build a good relationship with
parents, friends, teachers and peers. It has revolutionized the way students think
and interact and communicate. Communication skills enable individuals to
understand others and to be understood themselves. Having a good and effective
communication skills of students can help to be confident, and assertive. Also
students being able to communicate effectively and it will help build trust,
strengthen relationships, boosts teamwork, develop a sense of belongingness, and
help to become more productive. In addition, using social media may develop
effective verbal communication skills. By the advent of social media, a new way to
promote everyday knowledge and connectivity needs of students has been
enabled especially on the outbreak. On the other hand, as described,
communication skills are an important tool for individuals to effectively transmit or
receive messages and information in a clear and concise manner.

CHAPTER V: CONCLUSIONS
The primary objectives of this is to examined the impact and
influence of social media on effective communication skills and
academic performance also of section A, B, C, D under HUMSS
11 in Mapandan National Senior High School. The study revealed
that social media use positively influence communication skills of
HUMSS 11 learners in Mapandan National Senior High School to
high extent.
RECOMMENDATION
• Social media sites can also be used for negative things such as
cyberbullying, sharing of obscene images, therefore the
students should be properly guided in the way they use these
media. They should equally be mindful of the fact that writing
makes an exact person, therefore, they must not allow codes
and abbreviations hamper the knowledge of good spelling
skills expected of them in their writing skills.
• Parents should guide their children by establish clear, healthy
boundaries about social media and device use at home and/or
in school.
• Set clear expectations for online behavior and give youth tools
to address challenges.
• Teachers should use social media platform to teaching the
student to improve communication skills.
