5.1 Introduction

• Cyberspace is a synonym for the internet


• Now business dealings can occur across the globe without any
pen or even face to face contact
• For customer, purchase can be done through online.
• Online banking, such as online bill payments, buying stocks,
transfer fund to another person.
• Big company and financial institutions use internet to exchange
financial data to help with domestic or even international
business
5.2 What is cyber law?

Cyber Law refers to any laws relating to protecting the internet and other
online communication technologies.

The main objective of Cyberlaw is to deal with the rapid growth of


electronic commerce and the unique problem posed by this relatively
new commercial area.
Just like how we need laws to protect the parties involved in a normal
business transaction laws are required to protect the parties involved in
business transaction through the internet.
