• IPL was founded by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in 2008.
• For sponsorship reasons, it's also officially referred to as TATA IPL.
• There are 10 teams from 7 Indian cities and three Indian States competing for
professional men's Twenty20 cricket.
• It is generally held between March and May of every became the world’s first
sporting event to be broadcast live on YouTube in 2010. So far, 15 IPL
tournaments have been played.

• There were total of 94 matches in IPL 2022 tournament. The current IPL (2022 edition of
IPL) title-holder franchise is Gujarat Titans, which was playing in the tournament for the
first time. Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants were the two new teams added to the
list of IPL.
• The most successful IPL team, Mumbai Indians (MI) was at the bottom of the IPL list
2022. Along with Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings was in the 9th position among
the 10 teams this season 2022 was hosted by India. Ishan Kishan was the most expensive
player of this season, bought by Mumbai Indians for ₹15.25 crore (US$2.0 million).
Most expensive foreign player: Liam Livingstone, bought by Punjab Kings for ₹11.50
crore (US$1.5 million)

initiative taken by the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) India to
promote women in cricket and sports, not just in India but all

end on 26 March 2023.The best female cricket players from all
over the world.
