DISASTER

VULNERABILITY
PROFILE OF
INDIA &
TAMILNADU
INTRODUCTION:
In this slideshow, we will
explore the unique challenges
and factors that make India
and the state of Tamil Nadu
susceptible to various
disasters. We'll delve into the
types of disasters, the
contributing factors, and the
efforts undertaken by the
government and communities
to mitigate risks.
DISASTER

Disaster vulnerability refers to how
susceptible a place or community is to
the impacts of natural or human-made
disasters. It is taken into account by
the factors such as geographical
location, infrastructure, socio-
economic conditions, and
preparedness measures that can either
increase or decrease the risk and
severity of disasters in that area. In
simple words, it assesses how likely an
area is to be affected and how well it
can cope with and recover from
disasters.
TYPES OF DISASTERS
