Currently John, a Marist alumnus serves as Director of Foundation and Government Relations and will John previously served as Director of Government Relations for the American Islamic Congress, a n...view moreCurrently John, a Marist alumnus serves as Director of Foundation and Government Relations and will John previously served as Director of Government Relations for the American Islamic Congress, a nonprofit organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. that was founded in the wake of September 11th to help build interfaith, intercultural understanding and foster tolerance and respect for human and civil rights. While at AIC, John served as the organization's advocate on Capitol Hill interfacing with federal agencies, NGOs, and other key stakeholders. He brings a wealth of relevant experience in both government affairs and resource development to this key role at Marist.
From 1999-2003, John served as Government Relations and Quality Assurance Specialist for the Nevada Home Builders Association, where among his duties, he chaired and oversaw the organizations political action committee. From 2003 - 2008, John established and led a consulting firm, Trans-Global Enterprises LLC in which he operated as the sole outside consultant for the US-Russia/China Build Programs, a joint program between the National Association of Home Builders and U.S. Department of Commerce and facilitated consulting for over 600 organizations. Before assuming his present role with the AIC, John returned to Marist where he worked in the Office of Special Services as a learning disability and technology specialist, tutor, and adjunct professor. He began his career as an AmeriCorps volunteer serving as a public access specialist.view less
