Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Marie’s dramatic wedding ceremony is, surprisingly, not what has the internet talking. Instead, all people can seem to focus on is the crop top wedding dress Scheana chose to wear for the occasion.

The top was covered in pearls while the bottom featured a floral beaded mermaid-style skirt. Plus, the whole thing was handmade by her aunt.

“Her dress, without a doubt, was uniquely Scheana,” her wedding planner, Danielle Rothweiler, explained to The Knot. “She had no desire to be in a traditional wedding gown, and instead opted for a crop top gown. The gown was actually made by her aunt and it included removable straps. She kept the straps down for the ceremony and then pulled them up for the reception so that she could have fun without pulling her top up all night.”

The dress caused quite the online controversy among people who really objected to Scheana’s look for the special occasion.

It doesn’t matter if it would be a wedding dress you would pick for yourself. Obviously, we all have different senses of style and different figures we want to complement. So, no, not everyone is going to be a fan of Scheana’s wedding dress, but that doesn’t mean it’s an excuse to bash her or bully her.

Plus, crop tops are all the rage this year. I’m surprised we haven’t seen more celeb crop top wedding dresses up until now. There’s no way Scheana is going to be the last we see of this trend. And if she’s happy and feels beautiful, that’s all that matters.
