Bengals Rookie WR Jermaine Burton Makes Interesting Comment About Falling to Third Round in 2024 NFL Draft
CINCINNATI — Bengals head coach Zac Taylor couldn't contain his excitement when wide receiver Jermaine Burton was still available in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Burton was considered a first round talent by some analysts, but he fell in the draft due to character concerns. So far, the Bengals are happy with what they've seen from the 22-year-old.
Burton has worked in the slot and as an outside wide receiver during the Bengals' offseason program. The rookie told Dan Hoard that landing in Cincinnati is a perfect match.
“I don’t care what round I could have been," Burton said. "If I would have known I was going to this team, I would’ve picked that from the jump."
Burton is expected to battle for the Bengals' third wide receiver job alongside Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins.
