Leaders In Training

Teens at camp get the amazing opportunity to spend two weeks at camp learning new skills. This is done through a unique multi-tiered program. This program is designed to provide the teens of our area the opportunity to develop their leadership skills while also helping them build hands on job skills.

Our LIT program mission is to empower young adults with the confidence, competence and compassion needed to thrive as future leaders.

The program is a structured and immersive experience designed for teenage students who aspire to become camp counselors or have a desire to become more effective leaders. Our program provides participants with a blend of hands-on training, mentorship, and leadership development.

During the program, LITs engage in various activities and workshops focused on building essential skills such as communication, teamwork, conflict resolution, and decision-making. They shadow experienced counselors, assisting them with supervising campers, leading games and activities, and facilitating group discussions. Through this apprenticeship model, LITs gain firsthand experience in working with children and managing group dynamics under the guidance of seasoned mentors.

In addition to practical skills, LITs will receive training in child development, safety protocols, and emergency procedures to ensure they can effectively support campers and maintain a safe environment. By participating in our program, LITs will have the opportunity to reflect on their experiences, set goals for personal growth, and receive feedback from both peers and mentors.
