➢ Strengthening the UN Climate regime's norm-setting function
➢ Strengthening the UN climate regime’s catalytic role in the wider
landscape of climate action (IOs, IFIs and ICIs )
➢ The GST could pave the way inter alia by:
➢ Identifying and recognizing relevant needs and potentials
➢ Highlighting the catalytic role of the UNFCCC and the Paris Agreement
➢ Inviting the UNFCCC secretariat, COP Presidencies and the Marrakech
Partnership with the High-Level Champions to advance related action
➢ Important action can be taken by the UNFCCC Secretariat, the
COP Presidency and others on the basis of existing mandates
