Roman Gonzalez returns to the ring for the first time in 19 months as he faces Rober Barrera in his home country of Nicaragua.

Gonzalez (51-4) is a four-division world champion, holding gold at minimumweight, light flyweight, flyweight, and super flyweight. “Chocolatito” is 2-2 in his last four fights, the losses coming against Juan Francisco Estrada. The last Estrada fight for super flyweight gold was in December 2022.

The likely Hall of Famer, 37, now has his sights set on bantamweight, looking to win gold in a fifth division.

“We are anxious to get back in the ring,” said Gonzalez via The Ring. “This will be a big comeback in my career, and I’m grateful it’s going to be in front of my Nicaraguan people.”
