On Saturday, the Boston Red Sox welcomed the Kansas City Royals to Fenway Park for the second of three games over the weekend, and Alex Cora's club earned a 5-0 win.

Boston's arms were impressive in this one, as starter Kutter Crawford threw seven scoreless innings, allowing just two hits and a walk while striking out four. He now hasn't allowed a run in his last 15 innings pitched.

Zack Kelly entered the game in relief and finished it out with two scoreless innings of work.

The Red Sox had a solid day at the plate, as everyone except for Ceddanne Rafaela (0-for-3) recorded a hit. They did, however, strike out 10 times.

Their runs came from a Rafael Devers (2-for-4) solo shot, doubles from Reese McGuire (2-for-4) and Wilyer Abreu (1-for-4) and a two-run single from Dom Smith (2-for-4).

This win improves Boston's record to 52-42 on the season and 23-25 at home. The two teams will meet on Sunday afternoon to decide the series.
