Post Malone launches new Times Square stage

Syracuse native Post Malone became the first artist to perform on a new Times Square stage in New York City on Tuesday. Posty performed at the TSX stage behind an 18,000-square-foot billboard in Midtown, treating fans and passersby with a performance of his new song “Overdrive” and hits like “Circles.” “I just wanted to say to everybody who came to hang out I’m so grateful and so very honored to be kicking this off. This is the coolest venue in the f---ng universe. I’m super nervous and super happy you guys came out,” he said. “I’m the first guy to do this, and I was super terrified because I know everyone has a busy day and a busy schedule... I love you, New York City.”

‘Dear David’ trailer

Remember “Dear David?” A Twitter thread by BuzzFeed cartoonist Adam Ellis went viral in 2017, scaring followers tweet-by-tweet with a ghost story. “My apartment is currently being haunted by the ghost of a dead child and he’s trying to kill me,” he wrote. August Prew (”Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power”) stars as Ellis, mixing his supernatural experiences with his job as he suffers from sleep paralysis from stress dealing with internet trolls. “Dear David,” written by Mike Van Waes and directed by John McPhail, will be released Oct. 13.

Creed reunion

Can you take me higher? Creed is reuniting for the first time in 12 years to headline the Summer of ‘99 cruise next year. Billboard reports singer Scott Stapp will join band members Mark Tremonti, Brian Marshall and Scott Phillips for two performances during the April 2024 cruise from Miami to the Bahamas. The lineup features other ‘90s artists, including 3 Doors Down, Buckcherry, Tonic, Fuel, Vertical Horizon, The Verve Pipe, Tantric and Nine Days. Creed debuted in 1997 with “My Own Prison” and soon dominated the radio with hits like “Higher,” “With Arms Wide Open” and “My Sacrifice.”
