Jason Aldean returned to the Empower Federal Credit Union Amphitheater at Lakeview on Thursday night as part of his “Highway Desperado” tour,

Aldean last performed at the Syracuse amphitheater in 2022 when it was known as St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview, or St. Joe’s Amp. The venue, originally known as the Lakeview Amphitheater, was recently renamed in a 7-year deal worth $4 million.

Aldean also performed at the Amp during its debut year in 2016, drawing almost 10,000 concertgoers.

Aldean is known for country hits like “Big Green Tractor,” “Dirt Road Anthem,” “Burnin’ It Down,” “Tonight Looks Good on You,” and “You Make It Easy.”

He sparked controversy in 2023 when his single, “Try That in a Small Town,” featured a music video that was shot on the site of a 1927 lynching in Tennessee; CMT removed the video after critics accused him of promoting violence and guns with threatening undertones.

Special guests Hailey Whitters, Chase Matthew, Austin Snell and Dee Jay Silver opened the show at 7 p.m.

Hailey Whitters is a country music singer-songwriter best known for her songs “Everything She Ain’t” and “I’m in Love.” She’s worked with Little Big Town, Brent Cobb, Jordan Davis, Trisha Yearwood, Lori McKenna, Hillary Lindsey and more.
