I-690 in Syracuse reduced to one lane for bridge inspections

A stretch of Interstate 690 in Syracuse is expected to be reduced to one lane for construction Thursday and Friday, according to the state DOT.

Construction is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, August 1 and Friday, August 2 in the westbound lane between West Street (Exit 11) and North Geddes Street (Exit 10).

The DOT plans to do bridge inspections.

The work is part of the massive project to rebuild the interstates in Syracuse before tearing down the I-81 viaduct.
