Syracuse, N.Y. — A former Syracuse football defensive back who missed most of the past season has found a new home through the transfer portal.
Bralyn Oliver announced he’ll transfer to Florida A&M (FAMU) on his Instagram on Wednesday afternoon. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
Oliver did not appear in any games last season for the Orange and fell off the roster midseason before entering the portal in December. Asked Sept. 11 why Oliver, who’d appeared in nine games in 2022, was absent, ex-head coach Dino Babers said it was not an injury issue but declined to provide additional details.
Oliver had five tackles in 2022 and appeared on special teams. He came to the Orange in fall 2021 after originally enrolling at Louisville. He did not play that season.
Twenty-eight players left Syracuse in either the winter or spring transfer portal window following Babers’ firing and the entry of new head coach Fran Brown. Oliver is one of 21 who have found new homes, though only seven have landed at other Power 4 programs.
