Princess Eugenie is known for her A-list friends, so it's unsurprising that one of her first outings post-lockdown easing has been to a restaurant with pop star Ellie Goulding.

The royal and the musician brought their husbands along for the occasion, Jack Brooksbank and Caspar Jopling, respectively, and chose Notting Hill's trendy Casa Cruz restaurant as their destination for a Thursday night supper.

Eugenie wore leather-look trousers and a bright red silk Galvan coat for the occasion, while Ellie was similarly dressed up in a split-skirt emerald-green dress.

Eugenie and Ellie have been friends for several years. It is even thought that the Princess introduced her friend to her husband Caspar, as she knew him from her work in the art world, and had worked alongside his famous art dealer uncle Jay Jopling at auction house Paddle 8.

The two couples attended each other's weddings, with Eugenie's mother and sister, Sarah, Duchess of York and Princess Beatrice, also at Ellie's wedding at Castle Howard in Yorkshire.

Ellie is also close with Prince Harry and Prince William, and even performed at the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's 2011 wedding.

During lockdown, Eugenie has been continuing her royal duties by filming Zoom calls with several of her patronages, including the Teenage Cancer Trust. In a recent call alongside her sister, Princess Beatrice, she encouraged a young cancer sufferer to be proud of her neck and back scars, speaking of her own pride in her scoliosis scars, which she showed off in a backless wedding dress.
