Jennifer Lawrence is all about keeping it real — that's what makes J.Law J.Law. You've likely found yourself shouting out a "same!" to a few things the star has said and done, from wearing a pizza-stained dress to a party, to making sure she and her partners are regularly tested for STIs.

In a recent interview with InStyle, the Red Sparrow actor expressed her desire for celebrities to keep it real in another way. She said she wants everyone to be more honest about what they're eating and what their fitness regimens look like. "I just like it when everyone's honest. If you are 20 pounds underweight and talk about eating pizza and fried chicken all the time, that's not going to make people feel good about themselves," Jennifer said.

"If I'm going to the Oscars or having a movie premiere — I won't lie — I'm probably eating differently from how I would in my regular life to fit into those dresses. And I feel comfortable saying that," the 28-year-old added.

Of course, no one should be shamed for their weight, and no one inherently owes the public an explanation about their body. But it seems like Jen is asking for more transparency from celebrities who do talk about their bodies, and that's not a bad thing. Just as is the case on social media, when we're constantly seeing posed and retouched photos, it can make us believe that we should look the way people in Instagram photos or in the media do. Similarly, it's easy to think that celebrities, many of whom fit into the strict societal standards of beauty, look that way naturally. People of all sizes and fitness levels do, in fact, eat pizza and fried chicken, and there's nothing wrong with that — in fact it would be best if we were all able to eat in the way that makes us feel best without being shamed or made to feel that we should fit into certain standards. But a way to help break down any standards is to be transparent and honest.

The outspoken star told InStyle that as she's gotten older, she's not only gained more self-confidence but also learned how to express that confidence in her fashion and beauty choices. "You just have to keep it personal. If you want to feel beautiful, whether that means extending your eyelashes or bringing out your natural lip color or whatever it is, then you should. There's nothing wrong with that. It's only a problem when you’re doing it for someone else," she said.

Jen, who is currently taking time off from acting to focus on political activism, also described the empowering moments when she personally feels the strongest. "Honestly, when I'm at my most disciplined," she said. "Like, when I'm really making myself go to the gym. Which is a joke, because I definitely pay more for canceled workouts than actual ones. But when I'm there and running on the treadmill, that's when I feel most powerful."
