One person is dead following a Friday fire at a charter school in Nashville.

The victim, who remains unidentified, was a part of a four-person construction crew working on the second floor of Liberty Collegiate Academy on the 3500 block of Gallatin Pike.

Three workers escaped the building.

When they arrived, firefighters found the victim face down and unresponsive. The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and later pronounced dead.

All students were checked out on the scene; one student was transported to the hospital with smoke inhalation. Various teachers were also checked out on the scene and one teacher was subsequently transported.

Both had non-critical, non-life-threatening injuries, and are expected to make a full recovery.

The school was hosting its final day of a specialized summer camp program.

This is a developing story and will updated as more information becomes available.
