How many kids does Jessa Duggar have?

JESSA Duggar is known as one of Jim and Michelle Duggar's kids from the TLC reality shows 19 Kids and Counting and Counting On. 

After the show ended, Jessa went on to marry Ben Seewald and start a family of her own, and has welcomed her fifth child.

How many kids does Jessa Duggar have?

Jessa and Ben are the parents of five children: three sons and two daughters.

The couple welcomed their first son, Spurgeon Elliot, in 2015 and later welcomed their second son, Henry Wilberforce, in 2017.

Two years later, Jessa and Ben welcomed their first daughter, Ivy Jane, in 2019 and then welcomed their second daughter, Fern Elliana, in July 2021.

Baby Fern was born one year after the couple experienced a pregnancy loss.

On September 9, 2023, Jessa and Ben shared a YouTube video revealing that they are expecting their fifth child.

Jessa began by saying: "After a heartbreaking loss of our baby last year, just this past week we found out some wonderful news that our rainbow baby is on the way, and we could not be more excited."

The proud mom then showed viewers her positive pregnancy test.

The pair officially welcomed their fifth child, a baby boy named George Augustine, in December 2023.

"Baby is here and we couldn't be more grateful!" Jessa wrote on Instagram on December 23, 2023. She urged her followers to check out her full video about the baby on her YouTube channel.

Who is Jessa's husband, Ben Seewald?

Jessa and Ben have been married since November 2014.

Born May 19, 1995, Ben is known as a handyman and a sometimes-preacher, according to multiple reports.

"Blessed husband & father," his Instagram bio previously stated.

While not much is known about Ben, his Instagram page has indicated that he enjoys cooking, music, and reading.

Duggar fans previously cringed after a clip from the show resurfaced showing Ben asking Jim for permission to date his daughter.

Fans couldn't help but provide their feedback in the comments about the "uncomfortable" meeting, with one writing: "That was one of the most awkward things I've ever seen."

While another responded: "Omg. Cringed."

What rules did Jessa Duggar have to follow growing up?

While Jessa and Ben's parenting style remains unclear, Jessa's upbringing has been public knowledge since the show first aired.

Michelle and Jim are known for raising a family with strict Christian rules that have often led to criticism.

Some of the rules the Duggar daughters had to follow include:

  • Abstinence - They can’t have intimate relationships before marriage
  • No birth control use
  • Must not show legs or dress in a revealing manner
  • They can't read romance novels
  • They have to be accompanied by a chaperone while on a date with a significant other
  • They can’t get their own social media accounts
  • They can't wear pants
  • No tattoos
  • No body piercings
  • No alcohol
  • They monitor their kids’ TV viewing
  • No front-facing hugs
  • They're homeschooled and homeschool their own children

They also grew up with strict access to entertainment and television. Jessa was previously seen defying her dad's rule by wearing pants in a family photo.
