Fans have gushed over Beyoncé's one-of-a-kind voice in her new album, especially as she croons Italian Opera in the single entitled Daughter.

But many remembered this wasn't the record producer's first time delving into the high-skilled genre.

RARE VOCAL RANGE

Back in 2019, a video surfaced of the mother of three belting an operatic mezzo in F sharp while in the studio recording her Lion King-inspired studio album, The Gift.

In the clip, originally shared on her own profile but reposted on various fan accounts, Beyoncé is seen standing in front of a microphone in the studio.

“So I hear some opera in the background. Could you bring me back to the first verse?” she asked her producer.

From there, she breaks out a vibrato in F Sharp, and then another an octave higher.

The video comes from an hour-long TV documentary called Making The Gift which brought fans behind the scenes of Beyoncé's Lion King-inspired album.

ITALIAN ARIA

In the new single Daughter, she flaunts her incredible vocal range by adding the famous Italian aria Caro Mio Ben.

The song is melodramatic with the lyrics telling a theatrical story about death and family.

The verse says, “Now I ripped your dress and you're all black and blue. How long can he hold his breath / Before his death?”

Beyoncé even seems to reference her track Daddy Lessons from her sixth studio album, Lemonade, with one lyric, saying, “If you cross me, I’m just like my father.”

FAN COMPLIMENTS

Fans were thrilled to hear Queen Bey bring in opera elements to her newest collection, taking to X to gush over her unmatched vocal abilities.

"Beyoncé singing opera in italian on daughter. wow…….." one wrote.

"Not seeing enough people talking about Beyoncé’s insane Italian opera bridge on Daughter…" a second agreed.

The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me.

"Beyoncé singing Italian opera on a country album was not on my 2024 bingo card but she ATE!" a third complimented.

"THE OPERA ON DAUGHTER?? GAGGED OH BEYONCÉ YOU ARE INSANEEEE," a fourth remarked.

"I just finished #COWBOYCARTER and all I can say is, thank you Beyoncè. She gave us country, pop, rock, gospel, trap, opera, ballroom all while including country legends and Black country artists who deserve flowers and a larger platform. 10’s across the board," a fifth shared.

"BEYONCÉ SINGING OPERA????? OMFG," another put shortly.

COUNTRY MUSIC QUEEN

Before dropping her new album, Beyoncé opened up about her choice to dabble in the country music genre.

The songwriter spoke about the decision in an Instagram post, claiming that she was not welcomed with open arms into the country realm.

“This album has been over five years in the making. It was born out of an experience that I had years ago where I did not feel welcomed… And it was very clear that I wasn’t.

"But, because of that experience, I did a deeper dive into the history of country music and studied our rich musical archive.

"It feels good to see how music can unite so many people around the world, while also amplifying the voices of some of the people who have dedicated so much of their lives educating on our musical history," she said.

“The criticisms I faced when I first entered this genre forced me to propel past the limitations that were put on me. Act II is a result of challenging myself, and taking my time to bend and blend genres together to create this body of work.
