‘This was the biggest what I ordered VS what I got moment’ Molly-Mae Hague jokes as she makes Bambi first birthday cake
WE'VE all tried putting our heart and soul into baking a cake, only for it to turn out completely different to the inspo picture.
And no one knows this more so than Molly-Mae Hague, who decided to follow her childhood recipe book to help make her daughter Bambi's first birthday cake.
But rather than look like the sweet candy house pictured, it instead ended up looking like something from a horror movie.
Taking to Instagram, she shared the adorable reason behind baking a homemade cake rather than just buying one from the shop.
"I was saying on my YouTube that my mum used to make us a special birthday cake every single year from this cake book she had," she penned.
"We've re-purchased the cake book after a lot of hunting on the internet because this book is SO old) and I'm going to carry on the tradition for Bambi…no matter how ugly the cakes are."
In a clip posted to TikTok (@mollymaehague), the former Love Islander, who is engaged to Tommy Fury, could be seen fully focused as she closely followed the recipe step-by-step.
After using a mixer to whisk all of the ingredients together, she popped it into a baking tray and into the oven.
She then rolled out the icing, before removing the mixture from the oven and letting Tommy taste-test the baked cake.
All seemed to be going well until it got to the decoration stage, with Molly-Mae sticking on Dolly Mixtures for the roof, pink icing to make the door and chocolate hearts for the window.
After showing off the finished results, Molly-Mae amusingly captioned the post: "This was the biggest ‘what I ordered VS what I got’ moment of my entire life."
While some rushed to the comments section to praise Molly-Mae's cute efforts, others were left in stitches,
"You’re so cute but I’m sorry the end BUCKLES me," wrote one,
A second penned: "No stop Tommy’s face when he shows the book - bless you, it’s the thought that counts! Bambi will love it."
A third commented: "It’s the fact that you wanted to make it yourself - oh Molly motherhood really looks good on you!"
Meanwhile, a fourth noted: "Nooo this is so cute."
Another added: "Love how you made it and not brought it."
And a further chimed in: "Never matters what it looks like! There is LOVE in that cake! Always make mine kids a cake!
"A tradition my nan started!!! There have been some great ones and some disasters!"
