AN interior designer has revealed the popular sofa that she can’t stand.
Not only this, but Courtney Ungaro also revealed her thoughts on the mistake many people make in their homes, as well as the trend that screams ‘no personality’.

So if you’ve been thinking about getting a recliner sofa, or have your sofa pushed up against a wall, then you’ll need to listen up (and prepare to be attacked).
The interior pro took to social media to share her thoughts and posted her clip with the caption ‘Things I wouldn’t do as an interior designer.’
She then explained why she isn't keen on recliner sofas, as she said: “I know I’m gonna get a lot of feedback for this one - I would not put reclining furniture in a main living space.”
Courtney claimed that she doesn’t think recliner sofas are practical as they need space to recline.
Instead, she advised people to opt for an ottoman if they want to put their feet up.
Courtney then added: “I just think these are so ugly, I’m sorry, I said it, I know people are gonna disagree with me, that’s my professional opinion and I’m sticking with it.”
Not only this, but Courtney revealed the mistake that many people commit, as she continued: “I would never push furniture up against the wall - I do not know why people keep doing this.”
Instead, Courtney shared that your room will be much more of an “interesting” and “conversational space” if you pull your chairs forward a bit.

As well as this, Courtney shared why she would never have a matching furniture set in her living room.
She explained: “I don’t care how good a deal you are going to get on it, there is no personality to this, I think people do it because it’s safe, they think because it matches it must work but it doesn’t.”

Instead, she advised that furniture “should coordinate but not match.”
The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @courtneyungarodesign, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly amassed 109,000 views.

But social media users were totally divided by Courtney’s claims - whilst many agreed, others were quick to share their opposing thoughts.
One person said: “Reclining couches are also just so tacky.”

The interior pro explained: “Another gripe of mine - Live, Laugh, Love - those kinds of wooden things that sit on book shelves and floating shelves, that’s so 10, 12, 15 years ago.”
NO GREY YAY: Julie Provenzano explained that grey interiors have been overdone.
She stressed: “We took a good thing and we overdid it to the point that it now feels copy, paste, basic.”
However, at the same time, one woman penned: “I have to be comfortable. I’m too old to care.”
Another chimed in: “Don’t agree with the pulling away from the wall, It would be way too small.”
