The report, based on Amazon's internal data, highlighted an overall injury rate nearing 45 per 100 workers for Prime Day 2019 when accounting for unreported incidents not disclosed to OSHA.
Sanders' spokesperson clarified that the committee's inquiry focused on data from 2019 and 2020, as provided by Amazon.
Report says Prime Day is tough on warehouse workers
Amazon's annual Prime Day launched this Tuesday, enticing members with lucrative deals while generating substantial revenue for the retail giant.
However, a new congressional report sheds light on concerning trends among Amazon warehouse workers during this event, as reported by CBS.
According to findings released by Bernie Sanders, chair of the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, Amazon warehouse staff are more than twice as likely to sustain injuries compared to industry averages.
