THE extent of China’s cyber war against the West is laid bare by accusations that its hackers accessed the personal details of 40million British voters in a direct challenge to our democracy.
But don’t expect its Communist regime to ease up one bit after it is condemned in Parliament today.

Every attempt at normal relations with the Chinese authorities is merely seen as weakness and an invitation for ever more brazen attacks.
Our Government’s efforts to foster “better cooperation, understanding, predictability and stability” with China have been met with espionage and targeting of British politicians who dare to point out Beijing’s malign intent.
Calling out China is long overdue, but sanctions against a handful of key players will have little effect.
These are state-sponsored attacks on us all by a regime determined to win a power struggle with the West by any means.

WE won’t know for sure what policies might be in Labour’s manifesto until its flip-flopping leader comes up with any he is prepared to stick to.
But Chancellor Jeremy Hunt yesterday made it clear that, for their part, the Tories will keep the pensions triple lock for the next five years if re-elected.
Cue a scrambled commitment from Labour to retain the triple lock, just days after Sir Keir Starmer told The Sun it could not be guaranteed.
“We’ll have to see what the state of the economy is,” he said.

ONCE more the BBC has given a platform to Hamas propaganda regarding the tragic situation in Gaza.
Six Palestinian medics featured by the Beeb saying they were tortured by Israeli forces turn out to be long-time Hamas supporters who spouted hate-filled anti-Semitic bile online.
It comes as no surprise, but BBC bosses need to explain themselves. Again.
Don’t gag press
IF it was left to judges, the rich and famous would find it easy to gag the press when they are arrested.
But victims of sex predators Rolf Harris and Max Clifford are examples of those who only came forward once the perpetrators’ arrests had been reported.
Creeping privacy laws are an affront to justice and free speech.
They must be resisted.
