Donald Trump RNC speech LIVE — Former president honors firefighter killed in rally shooting as $6.3m raised for victims

FORMER President Donald Trump honored Corey Comperatore during his speech at the Republican National Convention on Thursday night.

Trump took the stage across from Comperatore’s uniform, the firefighter who died during the rally shooting on July 13.

He said he spoke to the families of the victims before leading a moment of silence for Comperatore.

The former president also walked up to the late firefighter's helmet and kissed it.

During his speech, he revealed he had raised $6.3 million for the families affected by the shooting.

Trump officially signed the paperwork to accept the GOP nomination but formally accepted it during his speech.

    Television host and political commentator Tucker Carlson is giving his speech at the Republican National Convention.

    He says everything is "different" now after the assassination attempt on the former president.

    "This convention is different, Donald Trump is different," Carlson says.

    Carlson did not use a teleprompter for his speech and revealed "I don’t have a script."

  • Trump's attorney takes podium

    Alina Habba who works as Donald Trump's attorney shares a story about how after she left court someone yelled to her "God Bless you and Donald Trump."

    She revealed she was on the phone with the former president and he asked to talk to the person and thank them for their support.

    Trump was convicted on May 30, 2024, and became the first U.S. president to become a convicted felon.

    Country music star Jason Aldean will be present in former president Donald Trump's VIP box during tonight's Republican National Convention.

    Ivanka Trump, and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner are also expected to be there.

  • Witkoff continues speech

    Witkoff shares the story of how he lost his son to addiction and how the former president was there for him.

    He says that Trump has true empathy even though the TV coverage doesn't show that.

    Businessman and developer Steve Witkoff is giving his speech at RNC Day 4.

    He reveals that Trump answered his call the day the former president was shot at.

    Witkoff revealed that Trump said he was glad to hear from him and asked him how his family and kids were.

    My call to you today is we can't trust the Biden administration," Pompeo says.

    "He [Donald Trump] will put America first, so let's do whats right and is important and elect a president who isn't ashamed of our nation and will never apologize for our country."

    Mike Pompeo says he is disgusted by the way the Biden administration pulled out of the Afghanistan conflict.

    Pompeo talks about how Trump helped return Americans without spending a dime.

    "We need to get our sovereignty back and I am confident we will get it back," Pompeo says.

    He says it was an "honor" serving under former President Trump.

    Linda McMahon shares a story of Donald Trump's granddaughter running up to him before a meeting the two were set to have.

    McMahon previously served in Trump's cabinet during his presidency.

    Diane Evans reveals she has over 1,000 volunteer hours under the Trump campaign.

    She jokes she has never used a teleprompter before but if Joe Biden can she should have no problems.

    "President Trump is different, I knew he would get things done for the American people and he did," Evans said.

    "We need a builder back in the White House, someone who will give the power back to the American people," Hendricks says.

    Hendricks explains that the American dream is under attack and small business owners are having problems taking out loans.

    Co-founder of ABC Supply Diane Hendricks takes to the podium.

    She speaks about her beginnings growing up as a dairy farmer and talks about the struggles of being a single mother.

    Hendricks started ABC Supply, which employs 22,000 workers with her husband.

    Republican Richard Hudson says together a Republican House and Donald Trump will fund the police and finish the wall.

    "Who can we count on to stand up to our enemies?" to which the RNC crowd yells out Trump.

    "God Bless Donald Trump and God Bless America," Hudson says.

    The chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee is now speaking at the RNC.

    He praises Donald Trump and says he "loves America."

    "House Republicans stand with America and stand with Donald Trump, we stand for the flag," Hudson says.

    Hudson explains the bills and legislation passed by House Republicans that have helped make changes in America.

  • RNC Day 4 begins right now!

    The final day of the Republican National Convention is set to begin now.

    A plethora of speakers will grace the stage and address the Republican Party.

    Former president Donald Trump will close the night with a keynote speech.

    It is the first time Trump is speaking publicly since the assassination attempt on his life Saturday during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

    Donald Trump's vice presidential running mate JD Vance took the stage and delivered a speech for Day 3 of the RNC.

    During his speech, he directed his attention to his mother who was present.

    "Our movement is about single moms like mine who struggled with money and addiction but never gave up," he said, as chants of "JD's mom" rang out.

    "I'm proud to say that tonight my mom is here 10 years clean and sober. I love you mom."

    Beverly appeared to be moved to tears as she rose from her seat in the audience.

    Her proud son added, "Mom, I was thinking, it will be 10 years officially in January 2025, and if President Trump's okay with it, let's have the celebration in the White House."

    Former president Donald Trump met with Secret Service chief Kim Cheatle ahead of his speech tonight, ABC News reports.

    The two met at Trump's hotel in Milwaukee but it has not been revealed what was discussed during the meeting, the outlet reported.

    This comes after the former president survived an assassination attempt on his life during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on Saturday.

  • Inside Trump's friendship with Linda McMahon

    Trump's friendship with the McMahons extends to Vince's wife, Linda, who gave Trump a standing ovation after his Hall of Fame speech.

    Linda, 75, served as the Administrator of the Small Business Administration in Trump's cabinet between 2017 to 2019.

    She stepped down to focus on helping with Trump's reelection campaign and currently serves as the chairwoman for the America First Action Super PAC.

    However, she would later donate $6 million to the Rebuilding America Now Super PAC that aired commercials supporting Trump's campaign once he was named the Republican nominee.
