On June 12, 2024, a Lee County jury found him guilty of murdering two women in the first degree — Kristine Melton and Diane Ruiz of Cape Coral, Florida — who were both killed on October 7, 2019.

He was found guilty of killing and strangling Melton the morning after they met at a bar.

Wilson was convicted, too, of strangling, beating, and running over Ruiz on the same day.

He was also found guilty of grand theft, battery, burglary, and petty theft.

The convicted murderer may be facing the death penalty for his heinous crimes.

Now, the intense bodycam footage from police officers which was shown in court on June 11 has been revealed.

Wilson was filmed by an officer from the Fort Myers Police Department driving a car he stole from ex-girlfriend Melissa Montanez after he murdered Melton, reported the Daily Mail.

In the video, Wilson was quizzed about how he was doing.

“What’s going on man?” the cop asked Wilson, who was shirtless in Montanez's car outside a local restaurant.

Montanez had contacted the police to say that Wilson had attacked her at the spa she runs, and stolen her vehicle.

Wilson, who shares the same name as the comic book character Deadpool, told the officer he was waiting for his girlfriend.

Who is Wade Wilson and what was he convicted of?

“That’s no problem,” the cop replied, adding that he had received a call about someone sitting in a car.

Wilson, who was visibly agitated, remained in the driver's seat and told the officer that his girlfriend was on her way.

"Here’s what’s going to happen,” the cop replied.

“Shut the car off for me, I'm going to detain you, until I figure out what exactly is going on.

"I’m going to have you step out of the car, and I’m going to detain you - not arrest - detain you - right now. OK, and I can’t have any problems, you understand me?"

“Just relax. Let me see the keys to the car. Let me see the keys to the car. Keys. Keys. Wait, we’re not going to have any problems?" the cop asked the clearly agitated Wilson.

"Give me the keys to the car,” he demanded, as Wilson refused to hand them over, and rolled up his window so it was completely closed.

He then partially lowered the left front window again, as the officer told him to wait while he called for backup.

“Don’t go anywhere,” the cop ordered.

FLED FROM COP

But Wilson closed the driver's window again and suddenly fled the scene.

Bodycam video shows the officer then immediately rushing to his patrol car to chase the man.

Wilson was later arrested on October 8, after driving to Ohio, where he broke into the home of Fanny and Kent Amlin, a retired couple, reported the News-Press.

When the authorities found him, there were White Claw alcoholic beverages, along with a belt and other clothing on a table.

Wade Wilson case - An overview

Who: Wade Wilson, 30, from Fort Myers, Florida.

Crime: On June 12 found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder, grand theft, battery, burglary, and petty theft.

Victims:

  • Kristine Melton, 35, worked as a waitress and lived with her friend in Cape Coral, Florida.
  • Diane Ruiz, 43, was an engaged mother of two who worked as a bartender in Cape Coral.

When: Both women were killed on October 7, 2019. Wilson was 25.

How:

  • Melton was strangled in bed as she slept after meeting Wilson at a bar with her friend Stephanie Sailors. After murdering Melton and wrapping up her bruised and broken body, he stole her car.
  • Hours later, he targeted Ruiz who was walking to work. He lured her into the car after asking for directions to a local school. They then fought in the vehicle, the mother attempted to flee and he strangled her, beat her, and repeatedly ran her over.

Defense: Mental illness and drug addiction. Forensic psychiatrist Dr. Mark Mills claimed Wilson suffered from "some kind of psychotic disorder."

Jury Ruling: On June 25, the jury voted 9-3 and 10-2 in favor of the death penalty for the two murders.

Sentence: Judge Nicholas Thompson was supposed to sentence Wilson on July 23. But this has been delayed until this month, as both defense experts were unavailable. The date has been reset to August 27.

Wilson, 30, went viral online following his court appearance, especially because of his extensive facial tattoos.

The murderer has a large swastika tattooed on the side of his half-shaved head.

He has another inked below his right eye and scar lines etched around his mouth.

SMIRKING KILLER

Wilson was branded as "soulless" on social media for "smirking" during his court appearances.

"Note the psychopathic smirk on the face of the serial strangler," one X user said.

Wilson, who was 25 at the time of the double murders, met Melton, 35, and her friend Stephanie Sailors at a bar hours before her death.

They ended the night at Melton's home, and Wilson waited until her friend left to strangle her to death while she slept.

STOLE CAR

Wilson then stole Melton's car and started driving around Cape Coral when he saw Ruiz, 43, walking on the street.

He asked her for directions and lured her into his car before striking - brutally strangling, beating, and running her over with the car up to 20 times.

During his murder trial, Steven Testasecca, Wilson's father, told the court her body was left "looking like spaghetti."

TOXIC FLING

Last month an ex-girlfriend opened up about their toxic relationship.

Kelly Matthews said she wasn't surprised to hear of Wade Wilson's arrest after their 2018 fling ended in sick abuse.

Wilson's jury recommended the death penalty for each murder.

He will learn his fate when he next appears in court on August 27.

"Both murders were especially heinous, atrocious and cruel," Sara Miller, the Florida Assistant State Attorney, told Fox affiliate KDFW.

"He inflicted pain, and he showed utter indifference to her [Melton's] life."
