Donald Trump finally addresses ‘lisp’ and explains why his voice sounded ‘different and strange’ in Elon Musk interview
The former president directed supporters to a newly released version of the audio on Tuesday night
DONALD Trump finally addressed his apparent lisp on Tuesday night, admitting his voice sounded odd during his interview with Elon Musk.
The former president sat down with the Tesla mogul in a chaotic chat marred by technical glitches on Monday.

As well as the chat being the target of a "massive" cyber attack, according to Musk, listeners were quick to question Trump's voice, noting he appeared to be speaking with a lisp.
"Must be your ears," a spokesperson for Trump's campaign said of comments about the apparent lisp on Monday night.
Addressing the comments on his Truth Social account Tuesday, Trump said, "My conversation with Elon last night was heard by a RECORD audience, and was really something special, as Elon himself is very special - and I thank him for such a strong Endorsement!
"Unfortunately, because of the complexity of modern-day equipment, and cellphone technology, my voice was, in certain areas, somewhat different and strange."

"Therefore, we have put out an actual, and perfect, recording of the conversation. ENJOY!!!" he said.
Elon Musk shared a new version of the interview recording to his X account, insisting the clip was of "higher quality audio."

The recording, however, was not dissimilar to the previous version, with a lisp still apparent in Trump's voice on certain words.
Political presentation coach Graham Davies, had another theory about the lisp, suggesting Trump was simply "too relaxed."

"This was a chat between Donald Trump and one of his best mates, his biggest fan, and his most powerful supporter," Davies told The U.S. Sun in an exclusive comment.
"That doesn't really bring out the best in Trump because it allowed him to ramble all over the place and to relax a little bit too much.
"When he relaxes his voice he always relaxes as well. And that, I believe, is the main factor in the way a sort of slur appeared in some of his words."
The 45th president spoke with SpaceX founder Elon Musk on X Spaces in a glitch-heavy interview after a "massive DDOS attack" delayed them by 40 minutes.
Donald Trump and Elon Musk's complicated relationship
Former president Donald Trump and Telsla CEO Elon Musk's relationship started rocky, but the pair have since reconciled, with Musk fully endorsing Trump and interviewing him on X Spaces on August 12.
In 2022, Elon Musk and Donald Trump publically feuded on X, then still known as Twitter.
Trump called Musk a liar and "bulls**t artist" during a rally in Alaska.
"Elon is not going to buy Twitter," Trump said at the time.
"You know, he said the other day, 'I've never voted for a Republican.' I said, 'I didn't know that - you told me you voted for me. So he's another bulls**t artist, but he's not going to be buying it."
In response to Trump's critiques, the SpaceX founder clapped back.
"I don't hate the man, but it's time for Trump to hang up his hat & sail into the sunset," Musk posted.
Musk also went on to buy X months later.
The X owner said he had previously voted mostly for Democrats since becoming a United States citizen in 2002.
However, when the 2024 election rolled around, he endorsed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Trump's rival.
"My preference for the 2024 presidency is someone sensible and centrist," Musk wrote on X in 2022.
"I had hoped that would [be] the case for the Biden administration, but have been disappointed so far."
His shift in political parties might be attributed to his plummeting relationship with President Joe Biden who didn't invite Musk to the 2021 White House electric vehicle summit.
Despite their past issues, Trump and Musk's relationship took a turn in March after they met at Mar-a-Lago.
Trump was also previously against electric vehicles but has since changed his stance.
"I’m for electric cars," he said at a rally earlier this month.
"I have to be, because Elon endorsed me very strongly. So I have no choice."
Following the assassination attempt at Trump's rally in July, Musk announced his support for the former president.
"I fully endorse President Trump and hope for his rapid recovery," Musk wrote on X after the shooting.
During a recent press conference, Trump spoke highly of Musk.
"I respect Elon a lot. He respects me," he said.
"Elon, more than almost anybody I know, he loves this country. He loves the concept of this country, but like me, he says this country is in big trouble, it’s in tremendous danger."
Trump was quick to lash out at his two political rivals, incumbent Joe Biden and new Democratic candidate Kamala Harris during the two-hour chat.
He slammed Biden as the "worst president in history" before claiming that the current administration has angered Americans by damaging the economy.
Meanwhile, Trump said, " I never got the credit I deserved," when discussing the state of the economy under his presidency before Covid hit.
"We had the best economy, ever, maybe, in the world," he claimed.
While Biden was still an object of Trump's criticism, the business mogul turned his sights on his presidential campaign rival Harris.
He criticized the Democrat's handling of border issues, claiming that "she was in charge of the border and the border is worse than ever."

"Where has she been for three and a half years?" he added.
Another bizarre moment in the interview came when he said Harris was made to look like his wife Melania when the vice president was featured on the front cover of Time Magazine.
"She looked very much like our great first lady, Melania," he said.
"She didn't look like Kamala but of course, she's a beautiful woman, so we'll leave it at that," Trump added, as he appeared to repeatedly mispronounce Harris' name which often sounded like "Camilla."

Trump also touched on the moment he was shot at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania last month, before delving into the war in Ukraine, his diplomatic relationships with global despots, and immigration policies.
Meanwhile, Harris' vice-presidential pick Tim Walz has defended his military service during his first solo outing on the campaign trail after being accused of "ducking war."

Immigration and border control
- Trump criticized Kamala's handling of the U.S.-Mexico border. "She was in charge of the border, and the border is the worst ever," Trump said.
- "I saw an ad from Kamala saying she was going to provide border security... where has she been for three and a half years?" Trump added.
His assassination attempt
- "I knew immediately it was a bullet," he told Musk.
- "I wanted to let them know I was okay. The place went crazy," he said.
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un
- According to Trump, Kim Jong Un had a "much bigger red button" than him when the pair were both in power.
- He warned that the leader has "got a lot of nuclear stuff."
- "We're not in danger with him because of me," Trump said.
Criticism of the Democrats
- Trump called Biden "the worst President in History."
- He argued that the actions of Biden and Harris have angered Americans. "What Kamala and Biden have allowed to happen to the economy... it's the inflation."
Covid
- "We had the best economy, ever, maybe, in the world, but then Covid came... I never got the credit I deserved," Trump said.
- "Had Covid not happened, I was going to start reducing debt... for middle-income people, not just businesses."
