UNRELEASED police bodycam footage that shows Gabby Petito speaking with a female cop may hold crucial clues, an expert says.

The vlogger, 22, and her fiancé Brian Laundrie, 23, were pulled over in Moab, Utah following an “incident” near a grocery store on August 12.

A hysterical Gabby told cops that Laundrie "grabbed" her face, left a "burning" gash on her cheek, and red marks on her arm.

Footage shows Gabby being quizzed by male officers but Dr. Ann Wolbert Burgess, a behavioral scientist, says the vlogger's interaction with the female officer could help the FBI in their investigation.

She told NewsNationNow: “What we don’t have is the female police officer that spends time with her while the male police officers are talking to Laundrie.

“Look how upset she is. She’s trembling, she’s half-sobbing, she’s moving her hands. She’s very very emotional at this particular time.”

NewsNationNow journalist Brian Entin tweeted that a Freedom of Information request was submitted but says it was denied due to the ongoing FBI investigation.

The incident in Moab came just weeks before Gabby's remains were found in Wyoming.

In the harrowing bodycam footage, the vlogger recalled a clash that she and Laundrie had outside the Moonflower Cafe.

She said that their morning had been “stressful” and explained to cops that she had been apologizing to Laundrie for her OCD.

Gabby shows cops red marks on her arm as they notice some bruises.

She said: "Well, he like grabbed me, like, with his nail, and I guess that's why it hurts. I definitely have a cut. Like, I can feel it.

The officers pointed out the soreness on Gabby’s arm and one cop said: “What happened here, here and there?”

The vlogger responded: “I’m not sure. It happened really fast.”

She then started to well up in tears as she said she was trying to get back into the car and retrieve her bag, sobbing "and the backpack got me."

'STRESSFUL' SITUATION

Gabby alleged that Laundrie had told her to "shut up" as she appeared to admit that she hit him first.

Arches National Park ranger Melissa Hulls arrived at the scene moments after cops pulled the couple over.

She told the Deseret News: "I can still hear her voice. She wasn't just the face on the milk carton, she was real to me."

Hulls warned that the couple's relationship seemed “toxic” but admitted she was “more candid” than she should’ve been.

Gabby’s mom Nichole Schmidt said the 77-minute clip was “hard to watch”.

She told Australia’s 60 Minutes: “I wanted to jump through the screen and rescue her. I saw a young girl that needed someone to just hug her and keep her safe. I just felt so bad for her. I wish that she reached out to me."

The incident in Moab came just days before Gabby and Laundrie reportedly stopped for lunch inside the Merry Piglets restaurant in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

It was one of the last times the vlogger is believed to have been seen alive.

Nina Celie Angelo, of New Orleans, said she had been inside the restaurant with her boyfriend when suddenly an agitated man she later identified as Laundrie started arguing with a waitress shortly after 1pm.

While she said she couldn't hear what words were being exchanged between Laundrie and the woman, she believed the spat was either over the bill or about money.

Angelo described Laundrie's body language as "aggressive" and said that he left and returned to the restaurant around four times.

Gabby, meanwhile, reportedly stood nearby in floods of tears. At one stage she came back inside and apologized for her partner's behavior, according to Angelo.

Coroners ruled the manner of Gabby’s death a homicide before confirming that she died from strangulation.

Laundrie returned home to Florida on September 1 and was reported missing days later by his parents Chris and Roberta.

The search to find the fugitive has entered its fifth week as cops continue to scour the Carlton Reserve in Sarasota.

Laundrie allegedly told his parents that he was going for a hike in the nature park.

But, former FBI agent Jennifer Coffindaffer thinks Laundrie could be hiding out on the Appalachian Trail.

The fugitive and Gabby celebrated the vlogger’s 22nd birthday hiking along the route earlier this year and one of Gabby’s pals Rose Davis said Laundrie previously lived on the trail for “months”.
