Better still, members can benefit from fuel discounts that slash up to 10¢ per gallon at thousands of locations, including popular fuel stations like Exxon, Mobil, Walmart, and Murphy.
With scan-and-go shopping, regular shoppers can also conveniently use their phones to scan items while shopping in-store, enabling faster and contact-free checkouts.
Controversially, at select locations, self-checkout is now reserved exclusively for Walmart Plus scan-and-go shoppers and Spark delivery drivers. However, it's not a nationwide change.
To compete with Amazon's Prime Video offering, a Walmart+ membership also includes a Paramount+ subscription, which gives you access to over 40,000 episodes of TV as well as movies and live sports. A Paramount+ Essential plan usually costs $4.99 per month.

Compared to competitors like Amazon Prime, priced at $14.99 per month or $139 per year for an annual subscription, Walmart offers a more cost-effective plan.

Walmart+ self-checkout changes
As mentioned, there have been alterations to self-checkout procedures at specific locations, leading to some confusion.
There was speculation that self-checkout would be exclusively reserved for Walmart+ shoppers, effectively requiring the average shopper to pay a membership fee to utilize them.
In reality, this change is not a corporate-wide rollout but rather a discretionary decision made by individual store managers to enhance checkout efficiency.
However, it does mean that Walmart+ members will consistently enjoy this perk were their store introduces the change.
How to get Paramount Plus with Walmart Plus
Free access to the Paramount+ Essential Plan is also thrown in as part of the membership, saving Plus members up to $59.99 a year.
Once you're a Walmart Plus member, you can either head to the 'Benefits' or 'Savings' tab and scroll to 'Video Streaming'.
From there you can select Paramount+ and click through to the streaming site to create a free Essential plan.
You can enjoy over 40,00 episodes, movies, and live sports with a Paramount+ subscription included with your membership.
How to use Walmart Plus for gas
Drivers can save up to 10¢ per gallon at over 13,000 locations, including Exxon, Mobil, Walmart, and Murphy stations.
You'll be able to save directly at the pump by simply downloading the Walmart app and selecting member prices on the W+ membership page.
Through the app, you can locate the nearest participating gas station and either enter the discount code at the pump or scan the QR code and save instantly.
Can you share Walmart Plus with a family member?
Subscribers can share their Walmart Plus membership benefits with family members living at the same address and sharing the same account.
You won't, however, be able to extend the convenience and savings to friends or anyone who isn't part of your household.
You won't be able to create multiple member profiles either.

How to cancel Walmart+
If you decide the Plus membership isn't for you, or want to cancel before the end of the trial, here's how;
- Head to your Walmart account.
- Go to 'Account' in the top right corner.
- Select 'Delivery Unlimited'.
- Click on 'End Delivery Unlimited'.
- Confirm you wish to cancel.
You can cancel anytime during the trial, and if you've been a Plus member for a while, you'll keep any remaining days before the next billing cycle.
Is Walmart Plus worth it?
For regular Walmart shoppers, the premium membership offers significant savings, perks, and promotions, making it worthwhile for anyone who shops multiple times per week.
In fact, Walmart claims that individuals receiving two or more deliveries per week could save an impressive $1,300 per year, making the membership well worth signing up for.
What is Walmart+ Week?
The retailer hosts a Walmart+ Week sale, similar in style to Amazon's Prime Day, offering members substantial discounts on a wide range of products, from tech and home goods to fashion and beauty.
In contrast to Prime Day's 48-hour run, Walmart's last sale lasts longer, running for three days last July.
In 2024, the super savings event is returning once more.
Walmart Plus members can expect seven days of big member offers and exclusive access, starting from June 17.
