MECOLE Hardman Jr. will forever be remembered as the hero of Super Bowl LVIII for the Kansas City Chiefs.

Late in the first quarter of overtime, and with the San Francisco 49ers up 22-19, Hardman came up clutch for Kansas City.

On a first and goal with just three seconds to go in the quarter, the Chiefs lined up at San Francisco's three-yard line for the win.

A quick pass out wide to Hardman by Patrick Mahomes was enough to seal their second consecutive Super Bowl win.

But while the play will live long in the memory of Chiefs fans, the same can't quite be said of Hardman.

"I ain't gonna lie man. I caught that pass and I blacked out," he told CBS Sports.

"I didn't know what was going on until I saw Pat running to me, and I'm like, 'Oh we just won, okay yeah let's celebrate.'"

And not only is Hardman struggling to remember the moment, but he also didn't keep a hold of the ball as a memento.

When asked where it was, he responded, "I don't know! Somebody hit it out my hand! It's gone.

"I hope I can find it. I hope they know the number."

The Super Bowl win marked Kansas City's fourth of all time, and third in the last five seasons.

They also became the first team since the 2003-2004 New England Patriots to win back-to-back titles.

It also means coach Andy Reid is now tied with Bill Walsh and Joe Gibbs with three Super Bowl rings as a head coach.

Only Chuck Noll and Bill Belichick have more.

As for Mahomes, he was named the game's MVP for the third time in his still-young career.

The 28-year-old is now tied with Hall of Famer Troy Aikman for the third most Super Bowl wins by a quarterback.

Both Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw have four, while Tom Brady has seven.

However, as far as Mahomes is concerned, they are far from satisfied with this latest win.

"It's the start of one. We're not done," he said after the game.

"I know we gonna celebrate tonight and celebrate at the parade Wednesday in Kansas City.
