And it seems plenty of people tuned in to watch it, with CBS announcing on Monday that they averaged 123.4 million viewers across all platforms.

Available to watch on CBS but also on Paramount+, and Nickelodeon, this set a new record for the most viewed telecast.

Furthermore, 202.4 million people tuned into the game at some point on Sunday evening.

It also averaged 2.2 million viewers on Univision - a new record for a Spanish-language network.

Last year's Super Bowl's average of 115.1 million viewers had previously held the record for the most-watched championship game

However, the NFL still has a ways to go if it's to knock the Apollo 11 moon landing off its perch as the most tuned-into broadcast in history, as per Forbes.

That was seen by over 150 million people.

Next season's Super Bowl, LIX, is scheduled to take place in New Orleans at the Caesars Superdome.

It will take place on Sunday, February 9, 2025, and will be broadcast by Fox.

While the broadcast team for the game won't be announced until much closer to the game, some fans have already begun to speculate that NFL legend Tom Brady could play a part in Fox's plans.

The seven-time Super Bowl champion is set to join Fox Sports this fall in a ten-year deal worth a reported $375 million.

One fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, wrote, "The best part about the 2025 Super Bowl on Fox will be that Tom Brady won't attempt to make the Super Bowl about Patrick Mahomes vs. (CBS analyst) Tony Romo."

A second said, "Looking forward: in his first season as an NFL announcer, Tom Brady will join Fox.

"He will no doubt be awesome at that job and bring levels of insight almost unseen.

"The coolest part? Fox has the broadcast rights to Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans."

As a third commented, "Picture this. 2025, Super Bowl LIX. Tom Brady on the call as color commentator for Fox calling the Chiefs 3 peat and Mahomes' 4th ring…"

While another noted, "Quick Tom Brady connection from this week discussing next year:

"FOX has the TV broadcast of Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans.

"Brady will broadcast his first Super Bowl in the stadium he won his first title in on the network that had that game. Full circle."

In February 2002, Brady led the New England Patriots to his first Super Bowl win at the then-named Louisiana Superdome, in a 20-17 win against the then-St. Louis Rams.

Fast forward 23 years, the Chiefs and star quarterback Mahomes will be hoping to not only lift the Lombardi Trophy for the fifth time in the team's history, but in doing so, become the first team to ever win three in a row.
