Now with the 2023 NFL season wrapped up and all eyes on 2024, McAfee is seemingly looking to make an addition to their stacked lineup for the new year.

"I am trying my best to get Bill Belichick on this program at least once a week going forward," he revealed on Tuesday.

"Just at least once a week going forward in the football season.

"Could you imagine us peppering Bill Belichick every single week throughout an entire football season?

"That's if he wants to get into the media world and if he would want to be on our particular program. There's a chance he says no way."

Belichick and the New England Patriots parted company following this past season after 24 years as their head coach and de facto general manager.

To the surprise of many, he subsequently failed to land one of the league's seven head coaching vacancies (excluding New England), despite having interviewed with the Atlanta Falcons - who ultimately hired Raheem Morris.

Now with Belichick seemingly available for the time being, McAfee has extended an olive branch to the legendary coach.

He recalled how during Belichick's appearance on ESPN's College GameDay this past season, they "Got a chance to talk a little s**t to each other, that was fun."

McAfee went on to add, "Having a chance to pick that brain through an entire football season would be a dream come true.

"Know that I am throwing my hat into the ring in a big way."

Whether or not Belichick is considering a TV role remains unknown.

However, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell told reporters prior to Super Bowl LVIII that he envisioned Belichick being involved in the sport this season in one way or another.

"I think he'll be missed but I have a feeling that he'll still be around the game somehow," he said.

While Belichick's future in the game remains unclear, the family name will still be involved in the sport in 2024 with or without the eight-time Super Bowl winner.

His son Stephen recently accepted the role of defensive coordinator at the University of Washington, having previously worked on New England's defensive staff since 2012.

Belichick's other son Brian is set to remain with the Patriots as the safeties coach in 2024.
