NFL fans praise ‘outstanding’ Bill Belichick as former Patriots coach ‘shows off his personality’ in broadcast debut
Pat McAfee suggests Belichick's appearances may become regular in the fall
BILL Belichick won rave reviews from fans after his NFL Draft analysis alongside Pat McAfee on Thursday night.
The legendary former New England Patriots head coach hasn't currently been given a coaching job for the 2024 NFL season.

That could mean a lot more time doing media work.
And judging by the reaction to his appearance on "The Pat McAfee Show" on Thursday, that is likely to go down well with fans.
"He has a great personality, so glad to see him in a different light," one fan said.
"Bill did outstanding tonight! Saban was really good as well! ESPN needs to dish out the cash to keep Quality around. Pat did great as always. Good work tonight," another fan commented.

Belichick joined McAfee, Darius Butler, AJ Hawk, Ty Schmit, and Boston Connor on set, offering his insight into the picks as they came off the board.

This was Belichick's first Draft without a job in the NFL since 1974.
As their show came to a close, McAfee heaped praise on Belichick for his contributions throughout the evening.

"Well, is there any chance I could be on your show during the fall?" Belichick asked.
He went on to explain that he "got fired twice in Detroit in '76 after the season they fired us, right, but then they couldn't get [coach Chuck] Knox to come they rehired us, and then fired us in '77.
"So I don't want to get fired here tonight and make it a hat trick."
McAfee quickly suggested that Belichick gets hired instead, suggesting he appear every Monday in the fall.

The two immediately shook on it, much to the excitement of everyone on set as Belichick added, "Let's see if we can work that out."
Belichick's achievements in the NFL will go down in the sport's history.
He led the Patriots to a remarkable nine Super Bowls.
He won six Vince Lombardi Trophies, the last of them coming in 2019.

He found life harder work since quarterback Tom Brady left however, and the Patriots finished the 2023 season 4-13.
Belichick stepped down just after the season finished, ending an incredible era in New England that lasted nearly a quarter of a century.
