Kelce's new deal is reportedly worth $34.25 million over the next two years, according to Spotrac.

This deal makes him the highest-paid tight end in the NFL and represents a bump in pay from what he would have earned through the final two years of his former deal.

In 2020, Kelce signed a four-year contract worth $57.25 million, including $30.25 between 2024 and 2025.

His base salary of $12 million for the year is almost $1.5 million more than New York Giants star Darren Waller who was previously the highest-paid player at the position.

And it seems that teammate and pal Mahomes was well aware of Kelce's impending new deal.

"I told y'all I'll never let him leave!! Congrats my guy!" he tweeted in response to the news.

Mahomes and Kelce have forged a special bond during the last seven years.

In 93 games together, they have combined for 589 catches for 7,303 yards and 53 touchdowns, as per Statsmuse.

In January, they also broke the NFL postseason record for touchdown receptions by a duo, previously held by Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

During their time as teammates, the Chiefs have won six AFC West titles, reached four Super Bowls, winning three, and in so doing, become the first back-to-back champions since the 2003-2004 New England Patriots.

The duo have also become close friends and business partners off the field.

Both were part of a group of A-listers to invest in the Alpine Formula One team, which they plan to watch in action at the Miami Grand Prix along with their partners Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes next weekend, as exclusively reported by The U.S. Sun.

Kelce and Mahomes are also in the process of opening a steak restaurant together in Kansas City.

They have invested $1.3 million to launch 1587 Prime Steakhouse together, which is scheduled to open its doors in 2025.

Now with Kelce tied down to a new deal, he and Mahomes can turn their focus to chasing a fourth Super Bowl ring this upcoming season.

Should they do so, they would become the first three-peat winners in league history.

And it seems that Kelce is already raring to go.

"It's not even May yet and today we had the chance to get out there in 'Phase 2,' and guys were out there running around, and Travis was the first guy in line," Chiefs general manager Brett Veach revealed on Monday.

"And he looked like he was 28 years old.

"The odds of someone playing this far into their 30s are very low, but it does happen.

"And it happens with unicorns in the profession, and Travis is one of those."
